Stands for Lightness, plus A and B channels.
LAB colour is used so that the colours defined in artwork
can be unambiguously output on any device supporting this
standard, and the colour will not vary. LAB values can be
matched between Quark Express and the B2 Cromalin machine
to gain the closest possible match for a Pantone colour.
The Lansing pack is a combination of
CD or DVD sized panels, manufactured either as single wall
or double wall thickness. Single wall thickness is similar
to the concept of a card wallet whereas double wall is similar
to a digipack.
Lansing pack design can incorporate
a slit/pocket for the disc, either in single or double wall
thickness. Manufactured from white folding back board, high
quality substrates 190 - 500 gsm depending upon application
and pack design. They can be printed 4/0 up to 4/4 with
single or double thickness flap. Ideal for product promotion
and giveaways allowing better protection for the CD/DVD
and additional information over traditional card wallets.
It is also possible to have a version of card wallet with
a flap and a booklet glued in - the possibilities are endless
from a design perspective. Additional variations include
self mailers.
